Graduation is an important event in a student’s life…it is one of those days that you will always remember.

The success of this event requires active participation of the graduating class to:

  • Be informed and provide input as requested
  • Being responsible for meeting all graduation requirements as set out by Alberta Education and Canmore Collegiate High School
  • Volunteering to help out
  • Cooperating with the graduation committees
  • The date of June 9, 2017 is the cutoff date used to determine honours eligibility for our commencement ceremony. Hello Grad Parents,
The success of the Grad banquet is quite dependent on volunteer help from parents.  Tickets need to be sold, set up and take down of both the Banquet and Cap and Gown needs to happen, and arrangements with the venue and a parent contact need to be established etc...
The Banquet team (Robin Pollard, Kaela Christiensen, Jenna Krausert, Lea Finbow) will be holding a meeting on Tuesday April 18th at 6:30pm.  This meeting will inform parents of the committee's vision for the banquet and cap and gown this year, and ask for parent help to make it a reality.  Could you please let me know if you would be able to attend this meeting and volunteer later in the year.  Your time and effort is much appreciated by the grad class.

Kind Regards,
Jodi Anderson - jodi.anderson@crps.ca

How should grads dress for the Commencement Ceremony?

  • Although Commencement is a formal ceremony, it is important to be comfortable. You will be sitting, walking, posing and standing for long periods of time. Keep in mind that the gowns can be quite warm, so avoid wearing heavy fabrics, sweaters or jackets under your gown.
  • It is recommended that students wear either dark dress pants and a pressed, light colored dress shirt with or without a tie, OR a dress/skirt that falls above the length of the gown (academic gowns will fall about mid-calf length).
  • You will be walking up and down stairs to receive your diploma, so very high heels are not recommended.
  • The hat, or “mortar board”, is part of the traditional graduation attire. They do not accommodate lumps and bumps like buns, hair ties, pony tails, spiky gelled hair etc. very easily, so keep the hair simple.
