Prior to the Sept. 17 School Council Meeting, CCHS hosted a Parent Micro Session on high school math. The session focused on helping parents navigate critical questions regarding Grade 9 math and its importance as a foundation for future courses. Key topics included understanding the pathways from Math 10C, Math 15, and Math 10-3, and the impact of Grade 9 performance on course selection for high school. Parents were encouraged to engage with their children about daily learning, support homework completion, and create a conducive learning environment at home. The session also highlighted the differences between the various Grade 10, 11, and 12 math streams, such as Math 20-1, Math 30-2, and Math 31, helping parents guide their children in making the right course choices for post-secondary plans.
