CCHS' Peer Tutoring Program connects students with supportive, knowledgeable tutors in Grades 10-12 to help build subject understanding and academic confidence. Peer Tutors provide assistance through collaborative conversation and guided problem-solving, creating a positive and productive learning environment.
Program Details
Who Can Be a Peer Tutor?
Grade 10-12 students with a strong grasp of the subject they wish to tutor and a commitment to helping others succeed.
Duration:
Peer tutoring runs in short, manageable rounds of up to 4 weeks. Tutors can choose to extend their participation at the end of each round.
When and Where:
Sessions take place during lunch hour in a supervised location within the school building (Room 1214 - Homework Support Room).

- English
- Math
- Social Studies
- Science
- French
- Study Skills
- Other subject areas as needed
How to Apply
Students in need of academic support can self-refer or be referred by a teacher. Applicants must identify the subject area where they need help and outline their specific goals for peer tutoring. Self-Referral Form
Grade 10-12 students interested in becoming Peer Tutors are encouraged to apply and seek teacher recommendations for the subject they wish to tutor. Teachers will assess each applicant’s academic performance, reliability, communication, and interpersonal skills to ensure they are well-suited to mentor their peers.
