The WILD Program is a unique outdoor adventure course available to all regular and international high school students. Offered through the Canadian Rockies Outdoor Learning Centre and accredited by Alberta Education, WILD is an immersive experience in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, tailored specifically for CCHS and Banff Community High School
Taught by Alberta-certified teachers who are also highly qualified in outdoor disciplines, WILD combines hands-on training, skill-building, and unforgettable outdoor experiences in Alberta’s stunning landscapes. No other school division offers this exclusive blend of training, instruction, and personal development.
WILD 15 Program Activities
Students can expect an exciting range of activities, such as:
- Water Experience 15: A 5-day aquatic adventure
- Winter Travel 15: A 4-5 day journey through winter terrain
- High Ropes Course: An adrenaline-pumping day of high ropes challenges
- Wilderness First Aid Skills: Learn essential outdoor emergency care
- Paddle Canada Waterfront Canoeing Skills Certification: Gain a recognized paddling certification
Overnight experiences are available and can span 4-5 days, with students staying in a mix of lodges, cabins, tents, or shelters, depending on the activity.
Beyond these activities, students receive:

- Valuable Wilderness First Aid Skills
This all-inclusive program covers meals, accommodations, transportation, equipment, and rentals. Each group is led by certified professional guides and specialized teaching staff, ensuring a safe, educational, and thrilling outdoor adventure.
