August 26th First Day of School!

Welcome to all our new and returning Wolverines!  We are delighted to have a number of new students from around the Bow Valley and across Canada as well as our International Program Students who are coming from all over the world to be part of our community.  

Tuesday August 26th is the first day of classes.  

Each grade will come to school for one hour:

9:30 Grade 12

10:30 Grade 11

Noon Grade 10

1pm Grade 9's

New students please meet at the main office at your grade's start time for a guided tour and support getting yourself set up for success at CCHS. 

Ms. MacKinnon will meet new Grade 12's

Ms. Grecu will meet new Grade 11's

Ms. Hill will meet new Grade 10's and

Mr. Mackenzie will meet new Grade 9's

Grade 9's who participated in our Division transition days from LGMS and Exshaw School are not required to participate in our Grade 9 tour but may complete their activities independently if they wish.   Of course they are welcome to join the tour and get support for completing the activities if they prefer! 

Please share with your student that on August 26th they need to: 

  1. Go to the cafeteria to get their timetable AND to get their password if they are new or forgot theirs
  2. Sign up for CLUBS and ACTIVITIES and TEAMS in the cafeteria
  3. Go to Makerspace (rm. 1414) to get their school photo
  4. Sign up for a locker in the Library
  5. Walk around and find all their classes
  6. Go home and we will see them at 8:15 am August 27th for the first day of classes!

For the first day please ensure students have:

Basic School supplies (link here)

A personal device and power cord that fits our school criteria (link here). Note: phones and iPads do NOT fit this criteria

We offer the Food for Learning program for families in financial need.  If your child would benefit from a daily nutritious lunch to alleviate financial stress on your family please complete THIS FORM Please carefully read the instructions on the form and share them with your child so that they know how to access their lunch. 

Please contact sarah.mckay@crps.ca or call 403-678-6192 and ask for Sarah to purchase a lunch punch card for your child.  The cost is $110 for 10 lunches including, hot entree, 'treat' and beverage. We will begin serving lunch on August 27th, 2025. 

Lockers will be available for selection online on Monday morning after 9 am.  Please watch for an email to parent and student emails for further details and the online link.  Don't worry - you can still sign up for a locker on Tuesday at school if you would like.  Students are NOT required to have a locker.  If a student does not think they will use one there is no need to sign up for one.  Students taking PE are strongly encouraged to sign up for a locker as all valuables must be left in their hallway locker during PE class.    

Schools in Alberta are required to comply with Ministerial Order #014/2024 Standards for the Use of Personal Mobile Devices and Social Media in Schools.  Please carefully review our School Policy HERE prior to coming to school.  

Check out our Daily Announcements found on the CCHS website under "Quicklinks".  Tryouts for some teams start on August 26th and all the information is in our Daily Announcements.  Please review CCHS Daily Announcements if you are interested in Soccer, Volleyball, Cross Country Running, Football.  Contact our Athletic Director krystal.mackinnon@crps.ca with questions about any Wolverine Athletics Teams.  

Our School Handbook is found on the CCHS website and also HERE.  Please review this with your student prior to coming to school.
