Wolverine Weekly March 30th 2025

Wolverine Weekly March 28th, 2025
Ms. Keon and I would like to thank all the staff and students who participated in March Madness this week. The lip sync performances on Friday were so polished and it was great to see a very enthusiastic crowd. See the photo of our winning team above. We are so glad that our students enjoyed this special spirit week.
Course picks are now complete and Ms.Keon and I are working hard on a timetable and class assignments. Our goal is to have timetables in the hands of students in early May. As a reminder we do not make timetable changes in the new school year unless a student does not have the prerequisite to take a class they have selected or if they require a course for graduation or post secondary. There is a window for course changes for two weeks in May and this will be advertised to parents and students on our website, in the daily announcements and via this newsletter.
Our yearbook crew will be submitting this year’s yearbook to the printer by spring break! We have renegotiated a deal for one year that is enabling us to produce a full colour, soft cover 64 page yearbook for $20. This will be pre sold next week at lunch in the circle and can be added to student fees or we can accept cash. Please call the office at 403-678-6192 if you’d like a yearbook added to your school fees. The yearbook will be distributed before Exam Week to students who have paid for one.
Wolverine Wear
We are selling Wolverine Wear for students and staff until the middle of spring break. You can order your gear here https://cchs-springstore2025.itemorder.com/shop/home/ We hope you enjoy sharing your Wolverine pride!
France 2026 Fundraising
The students in our French program are fundraising for a trip to France at Spring Break in 2026. This is part of an initiative to encourage students to continue their studies in French Language Arts or French as a Second Language. The tentative plan is to offer this trip every second year to students who are registered in our Grade 10, 11 and 12 French programs.
We invite you to support them in their fundraising by purchasing some of the items they are currently selling. Contact Jessica.lefreniere@crps.ca for more information.
Post Secondary studies in which the language of instruction is French Parent Session Wednesday April 2nd 2025 6pm
In April, students in French Immersion and French Language Arts will get a visit from a representative from the Campus Saint-Jean which is the Francophone section of the University of Alberta. On April 2nd the representative will explain what to expect from and what the benefits are of doing a degree in which the language of instruction is French. We will be holding a Parent Micro Session to share this information with families on April 2nd at 6pm. Here is the virtual link meet.google.com/vrn-ycfx-xcb
Volunteer Hours
All CCHS students require 20 hours of volunteer service to participate in our CCHS Graduation Ceremony. These must be submitted by June 6th which is the date we calculate graduation eligibility. Our Career and Post Secondary Advisor, Mr. O, can provide you with the hours your student has already submitted. If you have hours to submit you can find the online Google Form HERE or you can continue to submit a paper record to Mr. O in student services.
Band Trip to Seattle
Our Jazz Band is heading to the Heritage Festival in Seattle on Thursday. We wish them all the best as they head off to showcase the skills they’ve been working on all year and to get some tips for enhancing their performance.
