Wolverine Weekly November 15th 2024

Thank you to our families for joining us at our awards night. The Parade of Honors’ was a success, and it was such a proud moment for families, teachers, and special guests as we celebrated students who earned honors and received awards and scholarships. A huge thank you to Sarah McKay for all the work that made this evening a success. $ 28 000 in awards and scholarships were handed out and we are so grateful to our local businesses and donors who champion academic excellence.  In addition 243 students earned a place in our Parade of Honours!  Congratulations to all students for their hard work in academics last year.

CCHS hosted our Post Secondary Info Night for Indigenous Students and Families this week.  Thank you to Ms. Dack-Doi, Mr. Stewart, Mr. B and Mr. O for supporting this important session.  It was great to see our students planning their futures with the specialized supports available to support them in their journey.

Please speak to your student about the extra support that is available every lunch hour. The schedule is above. Peer tutors are also available and for further information please contact:

Athletics

We are transitioning to our Winter athletics and are immensely grateful to our volunteer coaches and teachers who have supported our student-athletes in Football, Soccer, Volleyball, and Cross-Country Running. A big thank you to Krystal MacKinnon our Athletic Director and Sarah Cumming for their immense efforts to get our clubs rolling, organizing tournaments, hotels, transportation, referees, schedules, keys, jerseys, equipment, and supporting coaches and students.

The Wolverine Code is something that we ask families to review with your student(s) should they wish to join a sports team. This is a reminder that our sports teams are extra-curricular, we expect students to attend classes regularly, stay up to date on assignments, and have a positive attitude while representing CCHS at all times. Basketball, Trail Running, and Curling are available for students and the schedules can be found on our website.

Grade 9 Career Exploration Program January 20-24th 2025

This program is a key part of how Canadian Rockies Public Schools helps our youngest high school students to begin to think about their future career in a hands-on, real world way.  Students are offered a wide range of opportunities in workplaces across the Bow Valley in Lake Louise, Banff, Canmore, Exshaw, Mini Thni and Kananaskis.  We encourage parents of grade 9 students to talk to their student about the Grade 9 Career Exploration Program.  Mr. Holthuis came to visit all grade 9 classes this week to share key information.  In the letter below, you will find important details about the program as well as steps you can do to help your student become involved.
